At FanDuel members can create teams in six different leagues for daily or weekly fantasy contests. Members can pit their teams up against others for free, or for as little as $10, or even up to $535 per game.
With a fairly active forum and a very active chat, the sense of community is strong at FanDuel. But it isn't overwhelming, members can participate or keep to themselves. The chat is on the right side of the website (it can be hidden if you find it annoying), and is easy to use. Members share tips, make predictions, brag about wins, and have off-topic discussions too.
Joining a contest is as simple as clicking a button, and there are a number of search modifiers on the left that will let you narrow down your selection. Click enter on the contest that you'd like to join to see a few more details, and choose your team quickly and easily. Clicking on enter at the bottom of the selection screen will make it all official.
There are three salary caps to choose from; Beginner, Standard, and Expert. The smallest games will be head to head, and growing bigger and bigger up to contests with more than 1,000 entries.
A mobile version of the site has been created, making it easier than ever to join contest or edit line-ups from your mobile device. From FanDuel's website:
We’ve taken another step towards our goal of a fully-featured, streamlined mobile experience. FanDuel users have already been able to sign up, log-in, edit lineups, and view live scoring on their mobile devices. We’re now excited to announce mobile lobby functionality. Entering contests from your mobile device is easier than ever. Upon logging in you’ll be presented with a streamlined menu to select your preferred sport, contest type, and more to allow you to locate the upcoming contests you’d like to enter. Upon entering you will be able to easily fill out your roster using our existing lineup editing feature.
